Ursula Lehr study Psychology, Germanic Studies and History of Art in Frankfurt and Bonn. Has played a long teaching in the Departments of Education and Gerontology at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn and Heidelberg. Today is professor emeritus at the University of Heidelberg, where he leads the Institute of Gerontology others. Between 1988 and 1991 he was Minister of Youth Affairs, Family, Women and Health, Federal Republic of Germany. In 1994 he was appointed correspondent of the Saxon Academy of Sciences. He is currently president of the German Science Foundation Center on Aging at the University of Heidelberg and Doctor Honoris Causa of several universities.
