He is professor of the Department of Semitic Philology at the University of Barcelona and coordinates Section Assyriology Interuniversity Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies based in the same university. He studied Semitic Philology, Assyriology, and Egyptology Hittitology in Rome, Innsbruck and Münster. He has authored over a hundred scientific titles on Assyriology and Semitic Philology, published in national and international venues; including legal codes Babylonian tradition (Trotta / Universitat de Barcelona, ​​1999) and Epic of Gilgamesh, king of Uruk (Trotta / Universitat de Barcelona, ​​2005).
