He is a writer and journalist. He studied journalism in Madrid. In 1965 he won the Alfaguara Prize for his novel The corruptions. In 1976 won the Planeta Prize for today In a ucronía on the Spanish Civil War. In 1993 he won the Prix Ateneo de Sevilla, for the pilgrim. He worked at TVE cultural programs and has written hundreds of articles and newspaper reports.
