Sebastian Moll was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1980. He studied theology at the universities of Bonn and Lausanne, obtaining a doctorate in 2009 from the University of Edinburgh (UK). Since then he is a professor at the Faculty of Theology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.
His research focuses on the origins of Christianity, particularly in relations between orthodoxy and heresy.
