Mangos de HachaAlthough long critics repeated the old refrain that Olson was a derivation of Pound and Williams, there's nothing that looks like Maximus poems, nor was until the time they were made. And the later poems of the whole (with all its problematic textual history), brilliantly presented by poet Ricardo Cazares thus remain the most unexplored and perhaps more fertile field in which the thought of Olson assumes its poetic form. The poems have the character of newly discovered ancient texts, in which the fragments are never studied or contrived, but rather opted in the crucible of a long struggle with the survey, form and meaning.
