This book puts the work of Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867) in the context of the question of the character and destiny of poetry (and more precisely, the poem) at the time of what, following an opinion from Hegel, is called "death of art." This "death" determined and expressed as tacitly relations of art and philosophy in modernity. In the context of that determination is set in a complex and tense relationship with romantic poetry and, indeed, although more hidden way, with the opinion of Hegel, its scope and supuestos-, which here is called the modern poem. Baudelaire is the decisive, inaugural, in the configuration of this poem time.
