Rustic with flapsThe relationship between narration and experience is the matrix of this essay, and that vocation is what imanta. Hence, narration here is not considered from its status as an autonomous literary object, but as the instance in which the catastrophe of experience in the modern world can be exemplarily examined. This, however, does not mean that it is put to work ancillary to the narration, for merely illustrative purposes. On the contrary, from Benjamin's point of view it is precisely this matrix that allows us to have a rigorous notion of what, in essence, is played in the narrative exercise. And perhaps also, in a certain way, in the experience.
