Based on various academic works published in different languages ​​and coming from different schools of thought, Death and Mortality in Contemporary Philosophy represents a complete and systematic study of the philosophy surrounding death. In order to protect our happiness we deny death. Contemporary western man keeps a heavy silence on her by making her a taboo subject. However, the question of death is a fundamental issue that lies at the heart of human existence. Aware of this, Bernard Schumacher has proposed to reflect on it thoroughly from a theoretical approach with the purpose of understanding the death itself and those we love. Therefore, this book contributes to the current debate by offering dialogue and analysis between phenomenology, existentialism and analytical philosophy.
