Carlo Sini

Carlo Sini (Bologna, December 6, 1933) is an Italian philosopher and academic.
Carlo Sini studied at the University of Milan with Giovanni Emanuele Barié and Enzo Paci, with whom he graduated in Philosophy, and then became his assistant. After obtaining a chair in Theoretical Philosophy, he taught Philosophy of History and History of Philosophy at the University of L'Aquila. In 1976 he was called to occupy the chair of Theoretical Philosophy of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Milan, where he also held the position of dean of the faculty for three years. Member for many years of the Collegium Phaenomenologicum of Perugia, the National Executive of the Italian Philosophical Society and the Institut International de Philosophie of Paris, is a corresponding member of the Lincei National Academy, the Lombard Institute of Science and Letters and the Husserl Archive of Leuven Awarded in 1985 for one of his works of the Presidency Award of the Italian State Council, in 2002 he received the Class I Honor Cross for Science and Art from the Austrian State.

He has taught courses, seminars and conferences in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Spain, Switzerland and other European countries. He has worked for more than a decade in the cultural pages of Corriere della Sera and still collaborates with Rai, with Radio and Television Switzerland, with several weekly newspapers and newspapers. He directs the "Pragmata" series for AlboVersorio and is a member of the scientific committee of the La Festa della Filosofia festival. On December 7, 2014 he was awarded by the City of Milan with the Ambrogino d'oro.
