Doctor in Economic Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and superior statistician of the State (INE) on leave of absence, he has been a certified economist from the Bank of Spain, counselor of Economy and Industry of the Junta de Andalucía (1982-1985), president of the Banco Hipotecario de España (1985-1994) and president of the Caja de Ahorros de Granada (1994-2001). It belongs to the group "Economists against the crisis" and among its publications are an estimate of the function of investment in housing in Spain and housing policies in a context of oversupply.
