Samuel Gordon Listokin

He was born in Warsaw, Poland, on September 27, 1945. He has lived in Mexico since 1977. Playwright, essayist, narrator, poet, translator and anthologist. He studied at the Faculty of Humanities of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he obtained the degree of Master of Arts. He completed postgraduate studies at El Colegio de México. Prepare a doctorate at the University of Pittsburg. During his stay in Israel he was director of Cultural Affairs and Publications, and of the Central Institute of Cultural Relations Israel-Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Founder and editor of the journals Cuadernos de Jerusalem, Carta de Jerusalem and Activities. In Mexico, he has served as director of Research Data Systems, the Encyclopaedia Británica, the Middle East Press Service for Latin America, and the Middle East Information and Documentation Center. He has taught courses and conferences at universities in Mexico, Israel and the United States. In 1989 he organized the II International Conference of Carlos Pellicer, in Villahermosa, Tabasco. Advisor and editor of the Library of Letters collection of the Humanities Coordination of the UNAM. Member of the Mexican Association of Writers; of the SOGEM; of the Latin American Community of Writers; from the International Institute of Latin American Literature and the PEN Club Internacional. He has collaborated in newspapers and magazines such as Anuario de Letras, Arbol de fuego (Caracas), Asterisco, Avance (Villahermosa), Blanco Móvil, Carta de Jerusalem, Diálogo (Jerusalem), Diario de Centroamérica (Guatemala), El Urogallo, Época (Montevideo ), Gaceta del FCE, Maldoror (Montevideo), Magazine of the University of Mexico and Time. His plays The Bunker (1968) and The Rebellion Against Foreign Power (1969) have been premiered at the Odeón Theater in Montevideo.
