Masaki kinoshita
Masaki Kinoshita was born in Nara Prefecture in 1974, and graduated from the Kindai University College of Architecture. He worked for a time at a major construction company before turning to literature. After studying at the Osa ka Bungaku Gakkō writing school, he made his debut with the novel Ukita no suteyome ("The Bride of Sacrifice"), with which he won the 2012 Ali Yomimono Prize for New Writers. Under the same title, the first collection of his stories appeared, which was selected for the Naoki Prize.
His most famous books include the biographical fiction Tenka-ichi no karukuchi otoko ("The World's Greatest Comedian"), the collection of stories Sengoku nijuyoji: Saigo no toki ("Era Sengoku 24 Hours: The Last Days") and the novel Teki no na wa, Miyamoto Musashi ("Musashi, my enemy").
Deep connoisseur of Japanese history, his novels are based on real events that he masterfully combines with original fictional plots, which have made him the true dominator of the Japanese historical and adventure novel, at the height of the greatest of the genre.
