Ole J. Benedictow

Norwegian historian, Ole J. Benedictow studied at the University of Oslo, where he received his doctorate, being a specialist in the late Middle Ages. Throughout his career, he has worked as a professor of Medieval History.

He is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Oslo.

Benedictow has stood out for his research and dissemination work on the great plagues that devastated Europe during the Middle Ages, with special attention to the Black Death and its effects in the Nordic countries. Among his numerous academic and informative work, titles such as La Peste Negra, 1346-1353, should be highlighted.
