This book is a rigorous and committed sample of how to learn and teach in practice, which is the idea that governs this collection. This paper presents a proposal to address the growing problem of violence in schools, which naturally combines research and intervention, showing that, even on issues as thorny as this, their separation is a mere academic artifice. The book exposes a work program developed in a group of schools in Andalusia, with the participation of the teaching teams of those centers, with the ambitious goal of converting violence into coexistence. And it shows that this purpose is not only possible, but necessary and urgent. Because, as the authors defend, the best way to combat violence is to change the forms of coexistence in schools, the processes of defining and resolving conflicts, the forms of participation and cooperation and, ultimately, the forms of school life.
