Gautier de Châtillon

Gautier de Châtillon (Lille, 1135-Amiens?, 1201) was a French poet who wrote in Latin.

He was born in Lille, and died at the beginning of the thirteenth century because of the plague, possibly in Amiens. He studied in Paris with Ethienne from Beauvais, and then in Bologna. He was secretary of Enrique, Archbishop of Reims, and his successor, Guillermo, whom he dedicated the most important work of him, Alexandreis.
