Gabriel TorresPuga. He studied for a degree at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (UNAM) and has a doctorate in History from the College of Mexico. He was secretary of the Mexican Committee of Historical Sciences and was academic coordinator of the Center for Historical Studies. From a perspective that combines cultural history and microhistory, his research focuses on the history of the Inquisition in the Catholic world, the Enlightenment, conspiracies, censorship, and public opinion in the 18th century. Main books: The last years of the Inquisition in New Spain, Mexico (2004)), Public opinion and censorship in New Spain (2010) and Minimal history of the inquisition (2019). He is currently working on a systematization project on the inquisitorial activity of the court of the Inquisition in Mexico in the 18th century.
