Alias recovers the edition of the official catalog that accompanied this great art exhibition produced by the Spanish Ministry of Culture through the Reina Sofía Museum in collaboration with the British Council. An inventory in which a journey through the processes, experiences and practices of the participating artists is traced through interviews, texts, poems and comments accompanied by detailed images of the works that defined the identity of British art towards the new millennium. This book is an index that helps reinforce the theory that this formal movement has been one of the most prominent of the postwar period and that its reverberations can still be felt in the different generations of artists who inhabit the island to this day.

In the works of these artists the importance of certain structural considerations becomes unanimous; manipulate space instead of enclosing forms; the relationship of objects towards a whole; the function and interaction of materials; the abstinence of rhetoric, the grand gesture and the intimacy of detail.
