Sebastián Pineda Buitrago is a researcher at the Center for Culture and Communication Studies of the University of Veracruz. He received his PhD in Hispanic Literature from El Colegio de México (2011-2015), with a research stay at the Free University of Berlin (2014-2015) and previous studies in Philology at the Center for Social and Human Sciences of the Council for Scientific Research in Madrid, Spain (2010-2011) and at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia (2001-2005). It belongs to level 1 of the National System of Researchers. He has written, among other books, Literary Indiscipline: Media and Cultural Studies in Latin America (2022), Hispano-American Literary Criticism: A Historical Introduction (2022), Avant-garde Kings: Technique and Fantasy (2021) and A Brief History of Colombian Narrative (2013), as well as articles and chapters on topics of history and theory of communication and culture.
