This selection of texts offers and highlights the most valuable collection of Juana Inés de la Cruz's love poetry. If we are to believe the author, her sonnets, ballads and redondillas on love affairs, along with the rest of her lyrical and dramatic work, both secular and religious, should only be read and appreciated as occasional poetry. However, there are many indications that lead us to doubt that the writer valued this literary production so little.
