Martha Craven Nussbaum

Martha Nussbaum (New York, 1947), studied theater and classical languages before entering the study of philosophy from which he graduated from Harvard in 1972. From his book, The fragility of goodness: luck and ethics in Greek tragedy and philosophy (The Fragility of Goodness), its influence in the social sciences grew. He worked in collaboration with the economist Amartya Sen (Nobel Prize in Economics) on development issues and ethics, and with him developed the concept of "capabilities". Highlight their works and actions in defense of women's rights and, more recently, has focused on the study of emotions in relation to philosophy and law. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Law and Theology at the University of Chicago.
