Alan Hollinghurst (Stroud, Gloucestershire, 1954) studied at Oxford, was a professor at Magdalen College of that university, at University College London and at other universities. He has also been a member of the editorial board of the Times Literary Supplement. All of his novels have been published in Anagrama: The Pool Library (Somerset Maugham Prize 1988 and E. M. Forster Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters 1989), The Guardian Star (James Tait Black Memorial Prize 1994), The Spell , The Line of Beauty (2004 Man Booker Prize) and The Stranger's Son.
