Ana Luísa Amaral

Born in Lisbon in 1956, she is one of the most unique poets of contemporary Portuguese letters. He has published more than twenty books of poems, theatre, novel, children's books and essays. He has translated the poetry of Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson and John Updike. His books have been translated in the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Sweden, Holland, Italy, Germany and the United States. He has received prestigious awards, including the Correntes d'Written Literary Prize / Casino da Póvoa, the Giuseppe Acerbi Poetry Prize, the Grand Prize for Poetry of the Portuguese Writers' Association, the Internazionale Fondazione Roma Prize or the PEN Narrative Prize. She has been nominated twice for the Reina Sofia Award. She is a professor at the University of Porto and a researcher in Feminist Studies, Queer Theory and Comparative Poetics.
