Ana Velarde (Mexico City, 1991). Mexican poet born in October 1991. A fervent admirer of Octavio Paz and Saint John of the Cross, she participated in the poetry workshop led by Javier Sicilia at the Morelos Center for the Arts and is currently pursuing a degree in Hispanic Literature at the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos. Some of her poems appear in the anthology *Breve memoria de un instante* (Brief Memory of an Instant), published by Moria and Ediciones Simiente. *La luz cuando amanece* (The Light When Dawn Breaks) is her first book.
