Andrea Weiss is a renowned filmmaker and writer, with a PhD in the History of American Culture. She won an Emmy Award for her documentary "Before Stonewall" and several other awards at festivals around the world with other subsequent film productions, such as the adaptation of her own book "Paris was a woman. Author of" Vampires and Violets: Lesbians in Film ( Penguin, 1993) and "The Shadow of the Magic Mountain: The Erika and Klauss Mann Story (University of Chicago Press, 2008), translated into French, German, Korean, Swedish, Japanese and Croatian. She is a New Yorker and lived in Barcelona in year 2012.
