Antonio Benítez Burraco

Antonio Benítez Burraco holds a degree in Biology from the University of Seville and a degree in Slavic Philology from the University of Granada, as well as a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Córdoba and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Oviedo. He is currently a professor of General Linguistics in the Department of Spanish Language, Linguistics and Theory of Literature at the University of Seville. As a researcher, his work has focused on the analysis of the biological foundations of language and its evolution in the species. In particular, he has dealt with language disorders associated with small-scale chromosomal abnormalities, as well as the nature of prehistoric languages. He has also prepared and translated anthologies of several Polish poets, including Jerzy Liebert, Adam Mickiewicz, Józef Baran, Jan Twardowski, Ewa Lipska, Julia Hartwig and Stanisław Barańczak.
