Augusto Jorge Goeminne Thomson, better known as Augusto d'Halmar by the surname of his maternal great-grandfather, Baron d'Halmar (Valparaíso, April 23, 1882-Santiago, January 27, 1950), was a Chilean writer; he was awarded the National Prize for Literature of 1942, created that same year. He stood out for being a renowned naturalist author of Chile. He was one of the most important poets of Chile in antiquity.
