Benito Pérez Galdós (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, May 10, 1843 - Madrid, January 4, 1920). Spanish writer, representative of the 19th century Spanish realist novel. He has been an academic at the Royal Academy since 1897 and nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1912.
