Beppo Levi (1875-1961) was a mathematician as versatile as he was distinguished. Although he worked primarily in algebraic geometry, he made important forays (or forays, as he called them) into other fields, such as mathematical analysis, number theory, set theory, logic, and mathematical teaching.
