Trained as a veterinarian, Brooke Bessesen has worked in the rescue of various animal species. As a researcher for Osa Conservation, she carried out field work with dolphins in the Golfo Dulce and helped to identify that region of Costa Rica as a key area for whales and migratory turtles. Her studies with amphibians led her to discover a new snake taxon. She is the author of the Arizona Highways Wildlife Guide (2016) and half a dozen works for children. He has produced television shows for National Geographic and the Discovery Health Channel.
