Bruce Perry

Chief of Psychiatry at Texas Children's Hospital and deputy director of the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, Perry is also an emeritus professor at the Child Trauma Academy and an associate professor in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Northwest University School of Medicine (Chicago). Along with Maia Szalavitz, he is the author of The Boy Raised As a Dog (2007) and Born for Love: Why Empathy is Essential and Endangered (2010). Dr. Perry has been an active teacher, clinician, and researcher in the field of child mental health and neuroscience, holding a variety of academic positions.
