Carlo Ossola (Turin, 1946) is a professor at the Collège de France in Paris, where he holds the chair of Modern Literatures in Neo-Latin Europe, and director of the Istituto di Studi Italiani in Lugano. In his essays he has focused on Renaissance culture and European court culture. His dedication to Ungaretti figures prominently in his studies of contemporary authors. He has also been in charge of editing unpublished texts by Juan de Valdés and E. Tesauro, among others.
