Carlos López Cortezo (1942-2020) was a professor of Italian Philology for more than thirty years at the Complutense University of Madrid, where, since 1989, he directed a permanent Dantology Seminar. His teaching and tireless research work allowed him to forge an innovative method of analysis, leading to the formation of a school of scholars of Dante's work that today has special relevance in the international panorama of dantism. Founder of the Complutense Association of Dantology, he also created the Tenzone magazine, of recognized prestige and long history, in whose issues the most distinguished names of universal dantism have come together.
