Carlos Martinez Assad is one of the most prominent contemporary Mexican sociologists, historians, essayists and academics, widely recognized for his fundamental contributions to the study of Mexico’s regional history and the political processes of the Mexican Revolution. He currently holds the highest academic distinction as Researcher Emeritus of the UNAM (Institute of Social Research) and the National System of Researchers (SNI).
