Catarina Sobral, author and illustrator of Achimpa, was born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1985. She completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in illustration and visual communication and presented her work in various international exhibitions and shows, both individual and collective. In 2011 she published Greve and in 2014, Achimpa, which had a huge editorial impact and was translated into numerous languages. Among other awards, in 2014 Catarina Sobral was distinguished with the prestigious Bologna Fair Illustration Award and the SM Foundation, in its fifth edition.
