CLAUDIA CAMPAÑA HANCKE is an Art Historian, PhD in Theory and History of Contemporary Art, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Master of Arts in History of Art, Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, England. Degree in Theory and History of Art from the Faculty of Arts, University of Chile. Lecturer at the School of Art of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; he also teaches in the postgraduate course of the Faculty of Arts UC. Member of the Editorial Committee of Ediciones UC. Author of several essays and books on visual arts, the latter of which are: Adolfo Couve: a painting lesson (Eco, 2002; Heavy Metals, 2015); The manuscript of Winchester (Orjikh, 2014) and The art of the appointment: Velázquez in the work of Bru and Cienfuegos (Quebecor World, Chile, 2008). He has been a columnist for Arts and Letters, El Mercurio. He has received the UC Prize for Excellence in Research (PREI) on several occasions.
