Colin Thubron (London, 1939) is an internationally acclaimed novelist and travel writer. Among others, he has published the chronicles Between Russians (1986), In Siberia (1999), The shadow of the silk road (2006) and Towards a mountain in Tibet (2011), as well as the novels A Cruel Madness (1984 ) and Turning Back the Sun (1991).
