Daniel Sorando

Doctor in Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), specialized in social change in Spanish urban centers. In addition, he has obtained a master's degree in Population, Society and Territory (UCM) and a postgraduate degree in Research Methods in Social Sciences (CIS). He has stayed and attended research seminars at Brown University and at the Real Colegio Complutense (RCC) -Harvard University. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the UCM Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, where he has collaborated on various R&D projects on social structure, residential segregation and urban policies. As a result of these investigations, he has published articles and book chapters in scientific journals and collective works, as well as presented communications at both Spanish and international academic conferences. Furthermore, he is the author of the report "Necessary Youth" edited by the Youth Council of Spain. In the field of gentrification, Daniel Sorando collaborated in the drafting of the collective report “Neoliberal Urbanism in Zaragoza. Urban regeneration plans and socioeconomic effects in the San Pablo-El Gancho neighborhood ”(ASSI, 2015).
