
Daniela Rea (Irapuato, 1982) is a journalist and author of the books Nobody Asked for Forgiveness. Stories of Impunity and Resistance (2015) and The Troop. Why a Soldier Kills (2019). She is the editor of the book We Are No Longer the Same and Here the War Continues (2020). She directed the documentary Eternity Did Not Succumb. She received the 2018 National Journalism Award, the Gabo Award from the Ibero-American New Journalism Foundation in 2017, 2019, and 2022, and the 2021 German Journalism Award, among others. She is interested in exploring the tensions between horror and beauty, as well as in building spaces for listening.
