David Harvey

David Harvey is a Distinguished Professor of Anthropology at the Graduate Center of the University of the City of New York (CUNY), where he has been teaching since 2001. Previously he was Professor of Geography at Johns Hopkins and Oxford Universities. In 1995, the Royal Geographic Society of London awarded him one of his two annual Gold Medals and in 2007 he joined the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the most cited academic geographer in the world. In Editions Akal has published Spaces of Hope (2003), The New Imperialism (2004), Spaces of Capital (2007), Brief History of Neoliberalism (2007) and Paris, Capital of Modernity (2008). His two most recent works, A Companion to Marx's Capital and Rebel Cities: From the Right to the City to the Urban Revolution will also be published in Akal.
