David Harvey is a Distinguished Professor of Anthropology at the Graduate Center of the University of the City of New York (CUNY), where he has been teaching since 2001. Previously he was Professor of Geography at Johns Hopkins and Oxford Universities. In 1995, the Royal Geographic Society of London awarded him one of his two annual Gold Medals and in 2007 he joined the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the most cited academic geographer in the world.
