Donald S. Lopez Jr. (Washington, 1952) is one of the most eminent world experts in Buddhism. Doctor in Buddhist Studies from the University of Virginia (1982), is a professor of Buddhist and Tibetan Studies at the University of Michigan and director of the prestigious collection of essays on religion at Princeton University. He has been director of the Journal of the International Association of Buddhist Studies and has published more than twenty books on Buddhism. In 2000 he was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Buddhism is his first book translated into Spanish.
