He is the author of narrative, essay and poetry. His works have been translated into Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. My Lover's Sketch was his first published work, chosen as one of The Times Literary Supplement's Books of the Year 2000 and adapted as a multimedia ballet work under the title Kammer / Kammer.
