DouglasStuart. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1976. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in London and soon after moved to New York, where he began his career as a fashion designer. In 2020 he published his first novel, Shuggie Bain's Story, which won the Booker Prize and was shortlisted for a dozen other awards, including the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize and the PEN / Hemingway Award. It has been translated into more than thirty languages.
