Eberhard Schockenhoff studied theology at Tubingen and Rome. He is a professor of moral theology at the University of Freiburg since 1994, and member of the Committee on Ecumenical Dialogue "On Church Unity" and the National Ethics Council (Deutscher Ethikrat) in Germany. He has published, among other works, Theologie der Freiheit (2007) and Gewissen - eine Gebrauchsanweisung (2009).
