Elissa Rashkin is a researcher at the Center for Culture and Communication Studies of the University of Veracruz. She has a PhD in communication studies and is a member of the National System of Researchers. She is the author of the books Atanasio D. Vázquez, photographer of the post-revolution in Veracruz; Women filmmakers in Mexico. The Other Cinema; The Estridentist Adventure. Cultural History of an Avant-Garde; and, I am from a peasant nation: representation and memory in Veracruz agrarianism. In addition to articles and chapters on topics of cinema, photography, literature and Mexican and international cultural history. He co-coordinated with Ester Hernández Palacios Luz rebelde. Women and Cultural Production in Post-Revolutionary Mexico. He currently directs Balajú, Journal of Culture and Communication of the University of Veracruz.
