Elizabeth Cruz Madrid was born in 1981. She is a trained journalist and began writing for children and young people in 2008. In 2011 she won first place for her short story El fantasma japonés, in the Conafe Conmigo Contest; She was awarded honorable mention in the Inventions contest, from Nostra Ediciones, and she won second place for her story El secreto, in the Museo de Arte Popular's literary contest. In 2013 she received an honorable mention in the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz International Literature Contest, from the State of Mexico, for her story Entre monstruos.
