
Erick Baena Crespo (Mexico City) is a journalist, editor, and screenwriter. He trained at the editorial staff of the cultural supplement Laberinto, a newspaper owned by Milenio, and also at the Journalistic Writing Workshop of the newspaper Reforma. He later served as editorial coordinator at the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) and was a fellow of the Press and Democracy Foundation (Prende) at the Ibero-American University. In 2015, he founded the digital magazine Plot Point, specializing in writing texts for film and television. He graduated from the Screenwriting program at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). In 2017, he won the Crónicas Chilangas Award, organized by the Premios Ciudad (City Awards), and received an honorable mention in the Third National Grand Prize for Gonzo Journalism, organized by Producciones Salario del Miedo. In 2018, he was a finalist in the 5th Annual Gonzo National Journalism Award. Bengala Prize, and in 2020 won the Sixth National Grand Prize for Gonzo Journalism. That same year, she graduated from the Specialization in 20th-Century Mexican Literature at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Azcapotzalco Unit. She has published texts in Milenio, Chilango, Vice, Lado B, Langosta literaria, and Este País. She writes chronicles, reports, and interviews. She currently contributes to Sin Embargo.
