Federico De Roberto (Naples, January 16, 1861 - Catania, July 26, 1927) was an Italian writer, one of the most important representatives of Verismo. He has influenced authors such as Leonardo Sciascia and Tomasi di Lampedusa, whose novel El gatopardo follows in several aspects the masterpiece of De Roberto Los virreyes.
