Flaviano Bianchini was born in Fabriano (Italy) in 1982. He is a naturalist who deals with violations of Human Rights and health damages related to extractive industries, especially in Latin America. His studies on the impact of mining on the environment and health have achieved -among other important achievements- the modification of laws in Honduras, the adoption of precautionary measures by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Guatemala and the promulgation of laws on welfare in the city Cerro de Pasco, in Peru. He founded and manages the Source NGO. He is also the author of In Tibet. A clandestine viaggio-a book for which he has received several awards, including Bruce Chatwin 2010- and Taraipú. Viaggio in Amazzonia. The path of The Beast is his third published book.
