Francisco Brines was born in Oliva (Valencia), in 1932. He completed his baccalaureate at the Jesuit school in Valencia. He studied law in Deusto, Valencia and Salamanca, where he graduated. He studied Philosophy and Letters in Madrid, in the sections of History and Romance Philology. He was, for two years, Reader at the University of Oxford. He currently resides, indiscriminately, in Madrid and Valencia.
