
Franco Berardi (Bifo) (Bologna, 1949) is a writer, philosopher, and cultural activist. A leading figure in the Italian workers' autonomy movement, he founded the magazine A/traverso and promoted the legendary Radio Alice. After the movement's repression in 1977, he sought refuge in Paris, where he met Félix Guattari. During the 1980s, he lived in New York and San Francisco. Upon his return to Italy, he continued his role as a facilitator and contributor to magazines, publishing houses, and media activism projects. In 2002, he founded TVOrfeo, Italy's first community television station, and from 2000 to 2009, together with Matteo Pasquinelli, he ran the website Rekombinant. Some of his books published in Spanish: The Factory of Unhappiness (Traficantes de sueños, 2003), Telestreet (Viejo Topo, 2004), Post-Alpha Generation (Tinta Limón, 2007), The Wise Man, the Merchant, and the Warrior (Acuarela, 2007), Felix (Cactus, 2013), The Uprising (Hekht, 2014). Tinta Limón and Traficantes de Sueños are preparing the edition of 40 Years Against Work, a review of his entire work.
